Aabout the Book This Proceeding volume is mainly the outcome of the 4th State Conference of Bharatiya Itihas Sankalana Samiti, (BISS) Odisha. Fourteen Research papers of senior as well as junior scholars on diverse historical and societal themes were presented in the aforesaid Conference. The Proceedings, embodies-Mesolithic culture of Kalahandi, Numismatic profile of Kalahandi, Temple architecture and sculpture of Kalahandi and Nuapada, Buddhist monastic establishment Lalitgiri, Chilika lake, Early historic of the Tel environmer Kalahandi, the Laxm Biswanath H Valley. Social carly medieval spiritual impact of Philosophy of R.C. Mardaraj of Khallikote, R charya Harihara freedom Move H.K. Mahtab and Odisha Histerography, Peoples Movement in Kalahandi against the merger in 1948 and last but not the least, the tribal development during five year Plans. The themes are original in nature and the investigation of authors strictly adheres to historical research. methodology. Thus, containing multiple topics within, the Proceeding volume would cater to the academic interest of students and scholars.

About the Author Dr. Baba Mishra [b. 1959] obtained Ph.D. from Sambalpur. University and currently he is Associate Professor & Head, in the P.G. Dept. of History, Govt. College [Autonomous] Bhawanipatna, Dist.-Kalahandi. Odisha. He is the author of Medieval Orissa and Cult of Jagannatha [1995] Early Orissa: Urbanization in Tel Valley [2011] and Early Historical Tel Valley, Orissa [from the 6th century BC to 6th century AD] [2013] He has edited along with P.K. Dandasena - Settlement and Urbanization in ancient Orissa [2009] and compiled the volume-Facets of Orissa History, Culture and Archaeology [2010], History and Culture of Odisha: A New Look (In Felicitation of Dr. P.K. Dandasena, 2015) is another notable edited book of Dr. Mishra. His, more than hundred of research papers on history, culture, archaeology, art, architecture, numismatics and epigraph have been published in the leading Journals of India and foreign countries. He has presented his research findings in three dozens of State, National and International seminars, Annual session and Conferences etc, and has completed research projects of U.G.C. [Major] and I.C.H.R., New Delhi. He explored many archaeological sites of South western Odisha, participated in Kharligarh excavation 2002 and Salvage operation conducted at Chandrasagarnala, 2006. He directed Budhigrh excavation during 2014-2016. Also, Dr. Mishra has been successfully guiding M.Phil & Ph.D. research.

Dr. P. Sasidharan (b. 1975) is Assistant Professor in English Language. and Literature in Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi, Bhawanipatna, Dist-Kalahandi, Odisha. She did her Ph.D. from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. Her area of Specialization is Need based approach to Language Teaching in Engineering Context. She has widely published in National and International Journals on wide range of topics like Multiple Intelligence, Literature and Language studies English for Special Purposes etc.
