Scriptures and holy books are not understood in their right perspective unless one becomes an initiate or twice born. However great a scholar one may be, one cannot really appreciate the facts presented therein in the real sense. Why this is so, and what is the way back to our original spirituality, is the subject matter of the book. The book presents the author's autobiography, giving details of the evolution of the universe, and then various methods of transcending normal consciousness to become twice born. Finally the method of Shaktipat for a "quantum jump into divinity through the power passed onto a disciple by the Guru" is presented. The author has given his recommendations and suggestions to the seekers based on his personal experiences.
RAVINDRA KUMAR has been having experiences with the inner Light and Sound-the twin pillars of God-since 1987, when his Kundalini awakened. A Ph.D. in mathematics, he resigned his position as a professor in 1994, after thirty years of service in nine countries. He now holds workshops to share his knowledge of "Higher Realms" and the "Integral Path", which he claims to be the "Shortest Path to God". Ravindra is a trustee of the Academy of Religion and Psychical Research, USA, and founder/president of the Academy of Kundalini-Yoga and Quantum Soul with Centers in New Delhi, Copenhagen, and Florida.
He has been experiencing death and out-of-body travels after the awakening of Kundalini. These experiences of life after death have been written by him in more than fifteen papers published in the academy journal. He has successfully initiated a good number of practitioners into Kundalini Yoga, who have been enjoying oneness with God Almighty.
Our universe came into being some 2000 million years ago. It took 300 million years to evolve mineral, vegetable and human existence. Therefore humans are walking on earth for the last 1700 million years. However, the first human root race was ethereal, sexless, non-intelligent and highly spiritual; the second was still ethereal but beginning to condense and was gigantic, less intelligent but still very spiritual; the third became solid, intelligent, hermaphrodite and less spiritual. By the end of the third root race, humans became very intelligent but little spiritual, the separation of sexes took place, and the 'Fall' into generations began. The fourth root race became very intelligent (rather cunning) and spiritually eclipsed; they were males and females, and their gigantic stature began to shorten. Lower gods produced our physical structure and higher gods gave us intelligence and spirituality, but both of them failed to give the desired results as expected by the Lord. Man was left to himself to grow out of phenomenal consciousness and achieve spiritual consciousness. We at present are in the middle of the fourth round out of seven rounds set from the beginning to the end of creation. At this mid-point the reverse journey has begun as scheduled, and spirituality is increasing. Normal course will take another 2000 million years to bring the original order of spirituality, but the men of yoga are already on the path 'back to the Lord' through metaphysical practices, and they are teaching the same to others.
In recent years there have been two books in the market that caught my attention: How to Know God (Dr Deepak Chopra), and How to Find God (Sri Herald Klemp), the Eckankar leader at Minnesota. These books prompted me to realize the three steps in nature: first to know God by inference through jnana (knowledge), then to find God through experience of yoga, and then become God through bhakti or devotion. These ideas matured in the research paper 'We Are All Gods in the Making,' appearing this year in 'The Journal of Spirituality and Paranormal Studies,' Connecticut. The knower of Brahman becomes Brahman is the central message of this book, which further elaborates concrete steps to achieve this inevitable goal. Complete realization of the Self takes place in three stages: first is the realization of the impersonal Brahman, as brahma- jyoti or effulgence from the Lord that lights all the material and spiritual worlds and is omnipresent, and that is the identification of atman with Brahman. Many seekers stop at this stage, considering it to be the final goal. Of course, the chain of repeated births is broken and one finds an abode in the spiritual sky that is lighted with brahmajyoti, in contrast with innumerable material universes, each of them has its their own sun for light and energy. Buddha too talked about the 'Light of the Void' as the final realization.
