Indian culture has been characterized in terms of the spiritual ideal which is accepted in it as the supreme value. It has a multifaceted form, such as its religion and philosophy, art and architecture, language and literature, society, economy and so on. Further, inspite of geographical barriers and racial obstacles, the intercourse between India and other countries has remained almost uninterrupted since the early ages of history. Such an intercourse did not cease even during the times of armed invasions from across the frontiers; in fact, it increased after each invasion and most of the foreign influence on India has been brought about by these invasions. It is a difficult task to cover all the aspects in a single book. Time to time a number of great scholars attempted to give some new information on Indological studies. The book throws light on ancient Indian economy, social and religious traditions, language and literature, numismatics, various aspects of North-East India etc. Variety in topics is the speciality of this book.
