'Indian Stage-Stories' is about Natyasastra, and the connection of Bharatmuni to Aristotle's theory of dramatic unity, where the author, Bharatnatyam exponent and Founder of Sohinimoksha World Dance & Communications, Sohini Roychowdgury, has explored the Navarasa through a variety of prisms, including cinema.
She has spoken of Ma Kali and Shaktism.. and Sara La Kali in the West. Exploring bit players like Ahalya from the Ramayana, and Gorgon Medusa from Greek mythology, as probable victims of early patriarchy, Sohini also expounds in detail on Indian Mother Goddesses, specifically Ma Kali, clearly revelling in her Kolkata roots.
In the book, Sohini also celebrates Lord Shiva, the greatest of feminists ever, with his manifestation as Ardhanareeswarar... the truly evolved humanist ... inclusive.. embracing all... the greatest empath ever.... in all Indian dance operas.. lectures... storytelling sessions... the sheer infinity and the magic... the deep philosophy... is what shaped 'Indian Stage-Stories.'
'Indian Stage Stories' is about connecting Civilizations, and that we, the human tribe, are truly one.
