A seed is the genesis for all food. A seed is the foundation on which an economy is built. A seed is the farmer's breath, earth's little child and a plant's father. When such a seed is genuine and healthy, farmers are happy as their crop yields a bounty, assures their income for the year as well as inputs for the next crop. It helps them find two square meals a day and build a future for their kids.
This radio feature is originally written in telugu by Hari Krishna Mamidi, has been produced and broadcast on the occasion of the ISTA (International Seed Testing Association)'s first ever conference in Asia and Telangana, the youngest state in India. ISTA is an international organisation that has been set up to create awareness about the importance of quality seeds across the world in the field of agriculture.
The story is told through a tiny seed, personified into a child, and the farmer who plays her grandfather. The feature also includes many voices of eminent people who spoke at the conference.
