Human machine is the most ingeniously devised, designed and constructed mechanism that exists in the universe. It has systems of checks and balances and mechanisms which helps preserve a state of normality in what ever environment the human body is placed. Health is a positive state of physical and mental well being and not merely absence of disease.

In modern times primarily of western Consumerism life has become very fast. The old balancing systems of life ie dividing twenty four hours of a day into three parts viz eight hours for earning our lively hood, eight hours for meeting our personal and social requirements, and eight hours for rest and sleeping and to be in touch of the unknown, who fills us with thy grace, making us to feel fresh and lively after sleep and making us fit to be ready for the next days work. In modern times, life is said to be modern forgetting all the past traditions, and the division of working is almost sixteen hours of working for lively hood, and the remaining eight hours for meeting our personal and social requirements including sleep, thus creating all imbalance and life full of tensions. We the so-called modern civilized human beings find that we have forgotten how to relax - our bodies and minds. The mental and physical tension resulting from this increasing cultural and personal hyper activity have become almost inescapable.
However the ancient Indian holystic system of Ayurveda (including yoga) dealt from birth to death detailed life style, foods etc. to keep a person physically and mentally free from disease and to live a full life for the community's welfare.
In ancient Japan, china and korea many health arts were developed to create a balance between the body and mind. these included exercise patterns, meditation techniques, martial arts, and acupressure finger pressure methods, all based on same fundamental philosophy and designed to strengthen and energise the body and mind.
The particular acupressure technique used in Jin-Shin-Do is derived partially from an art called "Jin-Shin-Jitsu based on traditional Japanese acupressure methods as well as meditation techniques. Jin-Shin-Jitsu was developed in Japan during 1930-1950. Jin-Shin Do acupressure ways are close to traditional theories and techniques, while directing its practice towards the needs of our culture and age.
Iona marsaa teeguarden with several generous masters and spiritual guide developed this art of Jin-Shin-Do. It can be practised on several different levels. It emphasizes developing and maintaining well being. It aims at a deep release and rejuvenation through which the higher or Psychic Centers can be opened.
The contents included in these talks are all based on the research by lona Marsaa Teen guarden in her book "Acupressure ways of health - Jin-Shin Do a Japanese publication.
I came in touch of this book about ten years back, studied it, still trying to reach in deeper and deeper layers of its contents and utilizing the methods of treatments contained in it my clinical practice as a therapist, and finding the results ever encouraging.
For the last two years I was priviledged to deliver lectures on Jin-Shin Do technique in Seventeen days residential training programme arranged by this Sansthan, in which the participants took interest and demanded the literature on this topic. Keeping in view the demand of the participants and therapists is the result of compilation of these lecture notes, for which I feel highly indebted to the organizers and especially the course director Sri J.P. Agarwal Ji and the President of the Sansthan Sri M.P. Khemka ji allowing me to deliver these lectures, and also the compilation of them in this booklet of course my humble regards and respects to the writer of this book which gave deep in sight into the subject especially so I too being a student of Spirituality, this book appealed to me to the core of my heart.
