We are happy to bring out Karnaataka Sangeetha Dharpana part-III in English. This is a continuation of Part-II designed on the basis of syllabus both theory and practicum of Senior Grade of special music exa ninations conducted by the Department of public instructions, Government of Karnr ataka. Our thanks are due to readers, music teachers and students who have received ou books whole heartedly. Many wanted this book to be completed.

These books are useful to the performers also. As usual the book is divided into two parts with theory and compositions separately The authentic versions with correct lyrics and meaning are the high lights of the book. Recorded music of these compositions are also available. In theory raaga lakshanas are given in detail. Added to this additional information are given in detail. Added to this additional information are given about the constructions of musical instruments to enabie the students to have the knowledge about the instrument they play. Even for others there is choice for selecting musical instruments in each category.
