About the Author

Sudha Madhavan is a writer, artist and educator based in Bengaluru, India. She specializes in travel writing, children's stories and poetry as well as opinion pieces, all of which are imbued with her deep interest and research in history, civilizations and diverse cultures. Sudha has been published in leading print and digital publications since 2003 and her stories for children are featured in the anthology 100 Greatest Stories for Young Children (Hachette India, 2020).

Sudha's oil-on-canvas artworks are part of several private collections and have been exhibited in Mumbai and Bengaluru. She has been an educator and consultant with leading NGOs such as Maya Organic, a livelihood development initiative involved with artisans, self-help groups (SHGs) and micro-entrepreneurs, and Shishu Mandir, a children's welfare institution founded by Hella Mundhra. Sudha attended St. Thomas School, Shimla, and has degrees in English Literature and Education from Isabella Thoburn College and Lucknow University respectively.

When not writing or painting, Sudha loves gardening, yoga and sharing her love for old movie songs with her little grandson, Rishi.
