I am extremely pleased to reach out to you after the decent success of "The Hungry Swan-Ballad of the Soul" that was published three years ago. I come to you, this time, with a collection of short stories that depict instances from the lives of kings, monks, and ordinary people, and hence the title. A disciple gets to hear these stories through the words of his teacher. Each of the stories is set in circumstances in which the various characters are expected to react, and they do so in an ever-so-unexpected fashion. There is, however, a deep- rooted meaning embedded in each of these stories, and several questions and answers may arise after reading them.
All of these stories can be looked at with the mindset of a king or a boss; this means that you can judge, assign. and measure. Take the result-oriented approach! Or maybe adopt a seeker's point of view where you see the spiritual message in it. Thirdly, you may simply read it, as one would read short stories for the surprise element in them.
