Book Description
About the Book

Krishnapriya is a fictionalized account of her own journey and an overview of books she has read, enjoyed and profited from.

Krishnapriya is the soul of every woman who takes several births and gathers experiences through one body after another to experience pure love of Krishna, the eternal adolescent whose play is the Universe. Elevated Krishna devotees have declared that every soul that exists in the universe is female. It is natural therefore that souls should transmigrate across lifetimes till they unite with the only male in all creation - Krishna.

About the Author

Dr. Anuradha Iyer is a storyteller, writer, and Professor and Head of the Department of Physiology at the SHKM, Govt Medical College Mewat, Haryana.

The book you hold marks her out as a writer of fiction for the seeking heart. This book is certain to touch, elevate and surprise many with its depth, simplicity and powerful storytelling. Part story and part account of books that she has read and profited from in her spiritual journey, Krishnapriya is a labour of love.

She is also a devotee of Lord Krishna both as Yogeshwara the Lord of Yoga and as Raas Bihari, the supreme lover whose mischievous play or Raasa is, in the ultimate reckoning, existence being itself.

May this book awaken love in the reader for the Eternal Adolescent, the one with eyes radiant like blooming lotuses, who pervades all existence as Vishnu and resides in the hearts of all beings as Vasudeva.

Preface

This book comes from my joy and elation at finding the true purpose of my life, the discovery of the Sell within me and within all creation. I used to live before, but I merely existed. After finding the treasure which is inside me, I am living every day with tremendous joy and love and completely living and loving every moment of my life.

In sharing my journey I wish to trigger something inside you which will help you move with greater conviction on your spiritual journey as I have on mine. Some of us encounter a block within when we hear the word "spirituality". We feel that spirituality is for old people who are retired and have nothing to do than to read about God. But that is only a myth.

God is present inside each one of us before our birth and continues to be in us even after we die. If we think that we are leading life without him, we are mistaken. The moment we are ready to embrace the deepest part of ourselves, everything in our life shifts and sends us soaring up in the open sky. We are the best versions of ourselves and anything that we do is only the best we can do for ourselves and for all who are connected with us.

So dear readers, set yourselves free. Enjoy this wonderful journey with me and give yourselves a chance to be the best.

Foreword

For both of us, Dr Anuradha Iyer and me, familiarity with the Bhagavad Gita began early when we were but children.

When I met her for the first time during my wedding, she was a 12-year-old in two plaits sporting an angelic smile. Somewhere down the line, we embarked upon our spiritual journeys together. As we discussed the Bhagavad Gita, during this beautiful journey, life unfolded in a hundred enchanting ways. Life was responding to the call of Krishna.

Anu'Radha' grew up to be an excellent vocalist of Hindustani classical music, singing bhajans taught by me with exemplary devotion. As a medical doctor with myriad life experiences, her introspection in the light of the Bhagavad Gita led her to pen her first book. The seeds of her early spiritual development were sown by her paternal grandmother, my grand mother-in-law.

Anu'Radha' carries the legacy of a rich spiritual tradition which sustained her through her highs and lows. In our spiritual journey we have unconditionally, absolutely and lovingly surrendered unto Lord Krishna and desire nothing more than to be forever in Goloka-Vrindavan, His eternal spiritual abode.

I sincerely hope that the insights shared by Dr Anu'Radha' on the Bhagavad Gita will help all readers have a glimpse of their own immense potential and lead a happy, contented and peaceful life!
