Jasdeep Singh is an alumnus of Delhi University and a bureaucrat. He is member of Indian Revenue Service since 1993. Presently posted as Principal Commissioner, at Mumbai and was also special advisor to Swaziland for international taxation as part of a joint initiative of OECD and UNDP called Tax Inspectors without borders (TIWR). He contributes to departmental publications, journals and newspapers. "Kuchh Naqsh Kaghazon Par" is his first collection of poems being published in Devnagari script, though the language is a mix of Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi or one may call it Hindustani. The poems are about self-introspection and philosophy of life, societal issues related to communal harmony, deprivation, disparity and inequality. There are romantic lyrics too expressing love and longing, desire and separation. The poems are rhythmical and casy to comprehend. The poems explore both physical world and human psyche. The poet has a sense to fathom human sensibilities, is compassionate and emotes suitably to strike chord with readers. Other than poetry he writes fiction and on social issues. "Snippets- some stories short" is a collection of his short stories. His other interests include travelling, sports and music.
