Dr. Ernest A. Farrington (1847-1885) graduated as a homeopath when he was 21 and became a Professor of Materia Medica at the Homoeopathic Medical College of Pennsylvania when he was only 27. He was a contributing editor of the "Hahnemannian Monthly" and the author of his "Clinical Materia Medica". He was a highly spiritual man and established a fame and reputation as a gifted healer and teacher. Dr. Farrington was a member of the State Society and joined the American Institute of Homoeopathy in 1872. In 1884, the Institute appointed him a member of its Editorial Consulting Committee on the new Cyclopaedia of Drug Pathogenesy.

The great philosopher of the Homoeopathic Healing Art, Dr. Ernest A. Farrington, was destined to be a leader among his fellow-brethren. Within the short span of 39 years of life, which he was allowed by Providence to enjoy, he established a fame and reputation which would baffle time's tyrannic claim and will be sacredly commemorated in the heart of homoeopaths all over the world, until eternity.

Iyer of Basavangudi, South India, who apart from helping us through press matters, had personal interviews with Dr. Harvey Farrington concerning this publication while Dr. Iyer was on his tour to America.
