Swami Anubhavananda, truly the name echoes His being – He is the experience of Happiness – Happiness which spreads like a divine breeze amongst all who have come in contact with Him. This experience is now and here! He is suave and witty and equally at home with all; children, young and the old.
A disciple of H. H. Swami Chinmayanandaji, He had been the Acharya at the Sandeepany Sandhanalaya, Powai – Post Graduate Academy for Vedantic studies. He communicates the most difficult of the philosophy in a simple and direct manner.
The Intercultural Open University in Netherlands honoured Him with a Ph.D degree for his scholarly treatise on Amrutanubhav. He has to His credit over ten thousand hours recorded talks on the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Patanjali Yoga Darshan etc. in different electronic media. His sparkling talk series titled "Mauz Mein Raho" have been an instant hit and rendered Him the most sought after speaker on Vedanta today.
He is a visiting faculty to the following institutes in India: Kaivalyadhama, Lonavla (the oldest institution on Yoga in India); The Birla institute of Technology and Science, BITS Pilani (A Deemed University of international repute); Ahmedabad Management Association, Ahmedabad.
He is the founder of the SAT BHAVANA TRUST, India; BE HAPPY INC. USA; YO VEDA INC. Australia, and Happy folks of South Africa whose "Mauz Mein Raho" logo reflects his approach to life - 'Be Happy'.
The meditation sessions mentioned in this book were conducted for the Vedanta students at Kaivalyadham, Lonavala, during the year 2007. All sessions were recorded for those who wanted a help in practicing them subsequent to the course. The technical authenticity was verified and substantiated by Shri Ram Ratna Shastri, a scholar from Kaivalyadham. His views are attached in the Foreword of the present publication in original Sanskrit. His sincerity and efforts are much more than a mere reference and appreciation.
These sessions were conducted primarily for Vedanta students who were also exhaustively exposed to Patanjal Yoga Darshan. This was a rare combination for both the students of Yoga as well as students of Vedanta.
Mere Vedantic talk without Yogic practices leads to an argumentative personality, ever ready to condemn and belittle other branches of spiritual scriptures. Similarly, yogic practices without the correct understanding of 'Jiva', 'Jagat' and 'Ishwara' (as relative expressions of the absolute Reality existing in mutual dependence), becomes merely a physical, health oriented approach or a means for developing some occult powers.
The present sessions of meditations have a balanced weightage given to both sciences to ultimately discover the absolute Reality which is simultaneously transcendental to and immanent in the relativity.
The tedious and time consuming job of listening, transcribing, editing and giving it a book form was enthusiastically undertaken by Mrs. Seema Agarwal of Ahmedabad, who deserves all the credit in bringing it out in the present print.
We pray to the Almighty, 'May the seekers of Truth merge in the Divine Glory and be a source of light to one and all.'
