Sikhism was introduced in the fifteenth century. Before its formation, India was going through the grave difficulties. Islam was spreading rapidly throughout the country under the Muslim rule. Hinduism was affected with some social evils like untouchability, casteism, sati system, etc. Then Guru Nanak Dev formed a new religion. He called it Sikhism. This book contains 11 detailed chapters. The first is about the era which prevailed before the birth of Guru Nanak Dev, the following 10 chapter give detailed accounts of life and teachings of the ten gurus of Sikhs.
Shyam Dua born on 26th December, 1955 in Gurgaon (Haryana) in a middle class family. Since his childhood, he has a very creative mind. After completing his graduation, he always wanted to do something in the field of creative writing and book publishing. So, because of his intense knowledge, he got a job in a publishing house in Ahmedabad. While working there, he felt to publish some interesting books for children. For this reason, he started his own publishing house. In the beginning, he struggled a lot, but gradually, he embarked on a journey of growth. Now his company Tiny Tot Publications, has produced more than 2000 titles especially for children that include The Ramayana, The Great Mahabharata and 100 Bible Stories or children. The Lives and Teachings of Great Ten Sikh Gurus' is his latest book.
