My First and Foremost God- That is my Sathguru. It is the Guru that abides within me and acts and causes to act in this world thus far. I am obliged to reveal a Truth: Mayiladuthurai Parabrahma Sathguru Siddhar Swamigal is the Absolute Reality, the Supreme Being I know of no other God other than the Sathguru. The One shines in the intelligence of several as several Divine names and forms. The God revealed unto and by all the saints is the One Supreme Being. I am extremely happy to note that this english version of 'Maha Siddhar' embodies certain facts about the Life and Times of the Great One. I invoke my Guru's blessings upon Smt. and Sri. Umamaheswaran for their painstaking efforts. Last year, Sri. Umamaheswaran had written a book, "Ungalukkaga" (For You) - an excellent work. This second book by him shines bright for the good of Everybody. I welcome this book for its noble cause of lifting everybody to abide in the Divine Bliss. This is not a historical perspective of God..nobody is capable of writing it. Neither is it a historical perspective of the Sathguru. This book is one of the million rays that issue forth from the Sun of Cosmic Wisdom. My Sathguru's blessings to all.
Maha Siddhar is about one of the revered saints of Tamilnadu, Mayiladuthurai Siddhar Swamigal. Born in an illustrious and wealthy family, his was a life style that was different from all others. It was his grandfather who gave him 'deeksha' and initiated him into the lifestyle that was pure and in search of God. The laudable example set by his father further gave him the impetus of wanting to experience the same bliss that his father had experienced. Such was the urge in him to seek and understand God and realize the eternal happiness, that he lived a life that was austere, and yet comfortable, simple and yet meaningful, and above all, followed the correct path towards seeking and realizing God. Siddhar Swamigal was an avataara purusha, a complete soul who decided that he would not take fate into his hands even though he had the ability to change it. "Let fate do what is expected of it he would often say!
