They could not understand why Granny was being so difficult that evening. They had to plead with her to tell them their bedtime story.
At long when Granny gave in, all the children, Poma, Avi, Neeta, Hitti, Arsh and Sunny began to clap their Hands.
Now stop that at once! snapped Granny somewhat irritated, "if you want to hear a story you must keep quiet."
The Children became silent and attentive. This is how Granny began her tale: "Once upon a time there was a Raja, His name was Ranjit Singh. he was not like other Rajas of his time. Subjects of other Rajas were afraid of them but Ranjit Singh's subjects loved him".
Granny why did the people love this Raja? asked Sunny.
Every rulers who loves his people begins to be loved by them in return, replied Granny. If you give your love you will be loved in returns. It's as simple as that.
