Who am I? What is my origin? What is the source of my existence? Why have I come into this world? What is the purpose of this human life? What is it that I am made of body, senses, intellect, mind and spirit? Have I come into existence out of nothing and shall again go into non-existence? What keeps me alive? If it is pure simple energy then how do I have awareness, feelings, love, emotions, intellect, creativity, intuitions etc, networked with the billions of cells and have survival instinct which no other form of energy can give to any man made machine?
It is our physical body that we relate to as 'me' and the name by which we are known also relates to this body. Is body our identity or it is just a vehicle in which our consciousness resides? Am I merely a body-mind mechanism consisting of atoms and subtle matter or is there also such a thing as 'consciousness' activating the mind and body or it is just coincidence that I have been born? This query is raised again and again in our minds.
