A master for all, or jagad-guru, is a Vedic title for personalities who, by the power of their spiritual perfection, are able to help, instruct and guide all humanity in the path of love of God. This path is called bhakti-yoga. Such an exalted personality descends from the spiritual world with the sole purpose of delivering the conditioned souls, entangled in the endless cycle of birth and death.
Although divine and transcendental knowledge is being revealed directly in the Vedic literature, the sincere seeker of the Truth must seek for the guidance of a living master. Such a spiritual master is able to inspire all the mysterious and concealed knowledge of the Vedas - in the heart of the disciple imbued with love, affection, and proper understanding.
Even though many so-called gurus have misbehaved, misguiding people all over the world, a bona fide disciple succession of spiritual masters still exists. Such masters are able to guide their disciples toward the ultimate reality: loving devotion to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Shri Krishna.
This introductory book was prepared from excerpts of lectures given by His Divine Grace Shrila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Goswami Maharaja, spoken during the 16 years of his world preaching. Here you will find, in very simple language, the essence of his teachings and transcendental personality as an authentic master for all.
