As we develop our inner being, live more inwardly than most men do, then the balance is changed and we are pulled inwardly more by the Word of God, and a larger dream consciousness opens before us.
MEDITATION IN SIKI-I RELIGION
Eight Spiritual Lessons on Finding the Truth This book contains eight inspiring lessons on finding spiritual truth by means of scientific investigation into the human soul. These lessons, originally presented as lectures by author, focus on uplifting the vital and physical man in each of us, with no spiritual ideal liberating us from ourselves into our inner being.
All conscious, subconscious, and unconscious activity of man’s mind functions purposefully as a unifying principle and power of the innate Godhead. Lying behind all phenomena is the power of God, which coordinates and correlates all into unity and synthesis; its name is Nam.
Conditioned beings residing in conditioned existence can never free themselves to join the unconditioned and uncreated God, except by the grace and power of His Holy Nam, knowledge of which is vouchsafed by the gracious guru. By putting these blessed teachings of author into practice, those seeking wisdom will learn to become one with both themselves and God.
Dr. Bhagat Singh Thind was born in the state of Punjab, India, in 1892 and educated at Khalsa College in Amritsar. His early teachers were the Sikh pundits of his community, especially his father, Sardar Boota Singh Thind, whose living example and spiritual teachings left an indelible blueprint to the knowledge of God, and whose legacy Dr. Thind spent a lifetime fulfilling. He was inspired to visit the United States to fulfill his destiny as a spiritual teacher upon reading the works of Emerson, Whitman, and Thoreau. Dr. Thind arrived in America in 1912, and spent the rest of his life lecturing throughout the United States and publishing nearly a dozen books.
Meditation in Sikh Religion implies that a greater whole-being, whole-knowledge, and whole-power is needed in order to weld all into a greater unity of whole-life. Each individual must have high and stric mental and moral ideals controlling and uplifting the vital and physical man in him, and no spiritual ideal liberating him from himself into his inner being.
In order to know the part, one must have the knowledge of the whole it forms a part of The soul is larger than the ego, and large than the unconscious, the subconscious, and the super conscious. Lying behind all phenomena is the power of God, which coordinates and correlates all into unity and synthesis; it’s name is Nam. The self-awareness of Nam is only received by the grace and power of His Holy of Nam, whose knowledge is vouchsafed by the gracious guru.
The eight lessons presented in this book by its author, Pooran Avatar Sat-Guru-Bhagat Singh Thind, to truth-seekers of the world, give guidance, truth, and wisdom to all who are ready for self-and God-realization. Dr. Thind’s words stimulate and render active those powers which are normally latent, and which the seeker cannot evoke unassisted.
