There is no better way to teach than to tell a story. That is the premise of the Indian Sanskrit classic, the Panchatantra. There are five parts to the Panchatantra, each with a skein of stories. Many of the tales are wonderfully told using animal characters.
How did the Panchatantra come to be? That itself is a story. A king had three foolish sons who did not want to learn. So one Vishnu Sharma was told that he had to teach them, and teach them he did, using the stories that we now read as the Panchatantra. Each of the tales he told conveyed lessons on the different principles of life.
Delightful and brief, the twenty stories in this book have been carefully selected for their contemporary relevance to young children.
This easy-to-read, colourfully illustrated volume is a must for you young reader's bookshelf.
