"Architectural Writings" should be like Vedas and Upanishads to architects: At a later stage, these reflective essays and articles shall serve as a source of perennial inspirations. There needs to be a liberal mindset, toward perceiving and understanding architecture, to realize the delicate bridge between traditions and modernity.
In the great field of Architecture, Architect Pappal Suneja personally believes that there are no Boundaries; there is no limitation to our imaginations and inventions. Thus, being inspired from the very first Architectural Critic & Journalist of the world "Le Corbusier" who despite all odds did sustain his goals and aspirations, He wishes to put forward his ideas and viewpoints towards Rejuvenation of the Traditional concepts to which India is the First Signatory. Following the described less travelled path, he has been an active contributor to Architectural Journalism in India with more than 100 publications related to Architecture and allied fields to his credit till date and several accolades in Architectural Competitions and paper presentations. He hopes that while proceeding in this direction; He is able to achieve great milestones while searching his 'Everest' in Architecture.
"....and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference." The well-known poet Ruskin Bond has beautifully said the above in one of his poems. It is often seen that people tend to choose the already trodden pathways over the ones which not many would have walked on. This might be because of the innate human nature of considering time-tested and already visited paths safer. But have you ever thought of the numerous opportunities that remain unexplored in the paths that thus remain 'not taken'?! The profession of Architectural Journalism has been facing the same fate until now in India.
Architectural creativity is nurtured at Vishwaniketan through open learning environment and scope for experimentation. We encourage lateral thinking processes and have a multi-disciplinary approach in design teaching - linking design process with literature, fine arts like painting & sculpture and performing arts like dance, drama & music. Architecture is a professional course and hence exposure to global architecture is an important aspect of the teaching-learning process. To this end, we have planned various international fellowship programs with institutes in Europe & USA, where students shall undergo extensive training of 6 weeks in summer which is open to all engineering, architecture, management and design programs in India.
