The nation is in the cusp of a crucial change. The great churnings in the country post 2002 has thrown up an unprecedented leader in the persona of Narendra Modi aka NaMo- a leader who promises to rid the country of a decadent system it has long been pitted against. The upshot is people; especially youth, believe him at a time when the credibility of the political class is at its lowest ebb. If we cast even a cursory glance over NaMo's evolution, it would seem that he is pre-ordained for the country.
People of this greatest democracy of the world are at the juncture of making a very crucial decision. They have been presented with a great opportunity to choose a leader who would unleash talents of the country so that it becomes the leader of the world. The man of the moment is NaMo, who has the capacity to change its floundering narrative into a robust global script. Going by creden- rials that have accrued to him, it looks certain that there would be a paradigm shift in the governance of the country in his stewardship. A great nationalist, his overriding chant is 'India First.' He harbours the dream to see India at the top in the comity of nations. And for the first time, we have a leader who hates being seen as master. He would rather servant of the people be.
Veteran Journalist Dhananjay Kumar has profoundly weighed the options. The author has absolutely no doubt that NaMo is the unprecedented option for this country. In the book The Narendra Modi Phenomenon, he has showcased NaMo in all his brilliance.
Dhananjay Kumar is presently Senior Roving Writer of Gaon Connection, a unique media revolution brewing in the country. In his over twenty years of journalism, he has earned a special place as a thinker and opinion maker. As Editor Health and Social Affairs in Nai Dunia and National Dunia, he emerged as a keen observer of man and matters. His researched book Dishonest Medi(a) cine', which hit the stand not long ago, proved a critically acclaimed book. He is the recipient of Prem Bhatia Research Scholarship, a very prestigious media award of the country.
Through his stint also in IANS, Dainik Hindustan, New Delhi and Navabharat Times, New Delhi, he has made an indel- ible mark in social and political landscape of the country. He has done his masters in English and secured honours in Eng- lish too at a time when it was rarity. He joined Hindi Journalism at the behest of his mother.
I could sniff the nature of the content before I read some random portions of the manuscript. I was cocksure the book must have talked about Narendra Modi in profuse glowing terms. I have long known Dhananjay Kumar, the writer of this book, as besotted with Modi's inimitable persona, his governing abilities and his power to sway the crowds.
NaMo, as most sought-after leader in the political firmament of the country, is now a fait accompli. He has become a staple of every thinking and creative Indian mind. Reams have already been written on him. Books have come in droves. If you are thinking to write one again, the risk of being hauled on the 'also ran' variety is very real. Yet, I embarked on packaging this piping hot NaMo brew in my own semantics and phraseology because I thought the exercise was still worth it.
