It gives me pleasure to announce before the scholarly world the reprint of the "Tibetan translation of the Nyayabindu of Dharmakirti with the commentary of Vinitadeva edited with appendices by L. de la Vallee Poussin M. R. A. S.
The book in tibetan was published by the Asiatic Society in two fasciculii in 1908 and 1913 respectively in tibetan language and script.
The Nyayabindu of Dharmakirti (Circa between 635-650 A.D.) is a pioneering work of Buddhist logic. It is divided into three chapters, such as, (i) Pratyaksa (Perception), (ii) Svarthanumana (Inference for ones own self) and (iii) Pararthanumana (Inference for the sake of others).
Considering the demand and the scholarly value of the book, the Asiatic Society is now reprinting the Nyayabindu of Dharmakirti in one volume as a part of the reprint scheme of the Society's publication.
We gratefully acknowledge the financial help that we have received from the Education Department, Government of India for bringing out the reprint of this book.
