In this book the authors have made an effort to compile and elucidate the principles of Pharmacovigilance from Classical texts of Ayurved in a comprehensive way thus providing a new vista in understanding Pharmacovigilance from Ayurvedic perspective. Pharmacovigilance being a integral part of current CCIM Syllabus, this book meets the requirements of syllabus points mentioned in the subjects of Dravyaguna, Rasashastra and Bhaishajya kalpana, Agadatantra and Kayachikitsa. The classical examples related to pharmacovigilance have been tabulated so as to enable quick reference. It thus serves as a ready reckoner for practitioners as well. The book is first of its kind to elaborate the concepts of Pharmacovigilance from Ayurvedic perspective.
Dr. Sreenivasa Prasad
Currently Principal at KLE University's Shri B.M. Kankanwadi Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Belagavi has several recognitions both Administrative and Academic to his credit. He is the recipient of Ayurved Ratna, Best Teacher as well as Teacher of the P Teachers awards. Under his able guidance a peripheral Pharmacovigilance has been established which is active in reporting ADR's the National Pharmacovigilance center. Another significant contribution to facilitate students is Ayurgenomics Lab, Central research laboratory with advance facilities of drug testing and standardization, and microbiological studies in Collaboration with various research institute and pharma companies for initiating research activities in the institution. The Institute boasts of several Govt funded projects. .
Dr. Manjunath Ajanal
Author has done UG from GAMC Bangalore and PG from KLEU BMK Belgaum-Involved in Pharmacovigilance work since 8 Years, he has done median research on Pharmacovigilance with hospital based study and reported many cases to NPP-ASU Centre under the guidance of B. Sreenivasa Prasad. Author has published 14 research articles in peer reviewed indexed national and international journals as well as addressed as guest speaker in various national and international seminars on Pharmacovigilance in Ayurveda. He also has keen interest in Analytical research and developed Research Analytical laboratory (RAL) at RGES AMC Ron and has undertaken many projects funded by Government and non-government agencies. At present he is principal investigator in 3-projects on analytical research and experimental research.
Dr. Shraddha Umesh Nayak
Obtained PhD from Banaras Hindu University under the able guideship of Prof. V.K. Joshi. She worked in SDM College ofAyurved, Hassan and thereafter in KLE BMK Ayurveda College, Belagavi and is currently working in D.Y Patil School of Ayurveda, Mumbai. She has guided around 13 PG thesis and 1 PhD. An important work being hospital based study on Pharmacovigilance with the above authors.
