In life's journey there are many different types of upasanas, and probably the most satisfying to the individual seeker is music: whether for the performer-dancer, the musician, the informed listener or the passer-by who stops to listen to a distant note, sangeet encompassing both music and dance can take the individual close to a space of spiritual elevation, moving one to involuntary tears.

The 11th Naada Bindu Festival (NBF) was held from from February 10 to 16, 2021. A decade has passed since this embarkation which is in a way an utsava of Guru Chinmayananda an annual splurge of Pujya Gurudev's blessings on mankind in the form of nada. The team has meticulously carried forward the spirit and content of the festival each year and it is only befitting to pay tribute to this celebration in words.
Assimilating the spirit of classical performing art into words is an art by itself. Perspectives from the audience, the stage and the backstage and the academic eyes of the critic and historian all have to be put in place and carefully woven by the editorial thread so that the final silken fabric will be one to be cherished.
This responsibility rested on the editorial team lead by Smt. Sandhya Sundar (Managing Editor), Dr. Swapnil Chaphekar, Dr. Ramakrishna Pejathaya and Dr. P.N. Prabhavathy Sangita-sancintanam - Reflections on Art and Artistry is a collection that portrays a vivid collage of history, research and creative expression. Sangita in the Indian concept connotes a consummation of gita, vadya and nṛtta, and readers will find exponents from all these areas of art represented here.
