SCIENCE IN INDIA is a collection of critical essays on the subject. A bird's eye view on the ancient, mediaeval and contemporary developments of science in India is projected in this book. The author has raised several fundamental questions and suggested tentative answers to the same:
Was not India leading the world in scientific activity till the seventh century A.D.? Why was there a downfall of the Indian science in the mediaeval ages? Did religious thinking have anything to do with it? Quo Vadis contemporary Indian science? and so on...
It is hoped that this book shall stimulate the readers' interest in the history of science in India.
