The question that confronts Christians, Jews, and the believers and readers of the Bible is how the events and occurrences given in the Bible can be related to or identified with modern scientific laws and findings. We all believe in the miracles of modern science and medicine. But when a child or an elderly person is in death bed, we lift up. Our hearts to God and pray because he is 'God Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and earth and all that is seen and unseen.' He is in full control of what is happening here on earth. We believe in it because it is true and our conscience knows that! When a surgeon completes a major surgery on one of our loved ones and we ask him or her about the surgery, we often hear a reply, I have done my best, the surgery is successful, the rest is up in God's hands' or 'Pray to God! Even though they believe in the training they have received, their own skill and self-confidence and the state-of-the-art tools that science provided for them, they know there is one above, who is the final decision-maker. The God element is embedded in almost every one of us. But with our limited knowledge of science and the Bible, we often treat them as two entirely different entities. If one takes a serious and diligent effort to understand the scientific facts and their concurrence with the scientific laws together with the predictions or teachings given in the Bible, then ones' faith will be exemplified because of the amazing agreements one sees! Knowing not fully or understanding it not, we often sing songs depicting the scientific laws-God's laws - that God has formulated in creating us, and passed them on to us!
We can read study and meditate on the Bible. / Thorough study followed by a meditation on the facts of the Bible is needed to completely understand and comprehend the true-not apparent-meaning of the verses! We have to understand that the time and space scales given in the Bible are not always the same as we deal with in our day to day life. An instant in God's measure could be thousands of years for humans! The same applies to light, energy, power or any natural phenomenon. There is an inherent faith or belief in all of us - with the exception of atheists - that God has supreme power over us and the universe and He will hear us through prayer, the means of communication with Him. But the scientific knowledge interferes and creates doubts about the teachings of the Bible, and the events narrated.
Generally, a scientist is not a theologian, nor a theologian a scientist. So it takes someone who has the deep desire and a broad enough knowledge and training in science and understanding of the Bible to make a truthful assessment of God's works and their scientific explanations. I congratulate the author for an excellent research-oriented book depicting, The Science in the Works of God" He has gone through over two hundred research publications and articles on related scientific and biblical areas to establish his observations.
