Shri Gurucharitra is a celebrated and ever suspicious book read in almost every home where Dattatreya and his incarnations are worshipped. It is one of the first books that describes the path towards self-realization in a simple language that be easily comprehended by many Although there see a number of versions of Shri Gurucharitra available in several languages, it was thought that singing the glory of Shri Guru is a process that should never end. There should also be no comparison of the kind as each of them is highly sacred. This was the very motivation to write this English version of Sh Gurucharitra.
Egoism is the first hurdle on the path of self-realisation. This ego may be of any kind but our epe in surrendered to the feet of the Guru our spiritual journey cannot actually start One in reality surrendered to the Guru, the Guru then for the other side where one does in enjoy the bliss supreme. This book is about the second incarnation of Guru Dattatreya, Shri Narasimha Saraswati and many focuses on the spiritual aspect of day to day life and the way in which one can attain self-realisation humble attempt has been thus made to present the Gurucharitra from the Marathi Ovi metre to this English text version.
Most of the times we plan to do something but unless the Guru wills it, no work can be started as even task is thus ordained by the divinity. It was intended to write this book since a long time but by the will of Guru Dattatreya, Datta Jayanti of 2021 CE (18-Dec-2021) was the day on which it was supposed to start! Another divine aspect is that it was completed on Datta Jayanti of 2022 CE Thus it is not me who has written this book but in the real sense, it is been written by the divinity through me. The sole intent is to make the celebrated work known to all. 1 thus humbly prostrate to Shri Guru and all the blessed readers and invite all to dive deep into this ocean or treasure of bliss and get the most out of it!
