Vyjayanthi Subramanian completed her M.D. in Psychiatry from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurological Sciences (NIMHANS). She is currently assistant professor of Psychiatry at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore.
Some of her poems were published in two anthologies Peacock's Cry (2006) and I, Me and Myself (2009). This is her first collection of poetry.
"Vyjayanthi's poems are either seemingly clear or densely ambiguous. When they seem simple and clear, it is charmingly so and yet on re-reading one feels they are nuanced and have a hidden depth of meaning. When they are ambiguous, they have layers of meaning to be resolved by the reader...... Her images in their narrative sequence surprise the reader."
