Thanjavur Sarasvati Mahal Series No. - 313
During the past several centuries numerous literary works like Dramas, Prabandhas etc. based upon the old Ithihasas and Puranas of India have been continuously composed by the later poets representing different languages of India. They purport to spotlight some indispensable moral ideas to be inculcated by the common people. The present book entitled ' Siva Vilasa Champu ' comes in the line of the above minor works. The author of this work is called Virupaksha Kavi. He was the court poet of King Serfoji II (1798 - 1832 ). This minor work is full of literary beauties. This Manuscript has seen the light of day only now. A detailed summary of the work is given in Tamil. The editor Thirumathi Rajalakshmi, the Senior Sanskrit Pandit of this Library has written a foreword. The Senior Pandit in Sanskrit Thethiyur Thiru. S.
