Socio-Economic status stands for the Social and Economic participation of an individual in a community. It is inclusive of the total measure of person's work experience of an individual or family economic and social positions in relation to others based on income, education and occupation - when analyzing a family's socio-economic status, the household income, the earner's education and occupation are of primary concern in the contemporary world. Education plays vital role in income. An alert woman in a house helps the family save many things in the household to get rid of problems. In pre-Islamic Arabia the status of women was deplorable. Women were not given their share in inheritance. They were treated as material things. The protector of women had the right to decide her fate.
However, with the coming of Islam the Arabian ethos changed and Islam gave them some liberties, but not radically altering the existing set-up. In course of time Islam guarantees women some basic rights to face the socio- economic problems of a household. Muslim communities follow four different Shariahs, the Hanafi, the Shafai, the Hanbali, and the Maliki. Shariah is not changeable. There is strict provision in Islam that all wives must be treated equally.
