The Islamic Mystics who roamed the Middle East in the medieval period set out a path for the true seekers to find their God and live the life of a saint.
The Sufi's Bowl sets out to educate us in the techniques and practices of these Sufi saints. This volume explains in detail the concepts of Sufi practices used in the search for the inner being and ultimately God.
Much of the practices involved are similar to those mystics of other religions. It explains the various techniques of controlling ones breath in conjunction with the names of God. It also enlightens us to the various centres in our body upon which we have to concentrate and control our thoughts.
Unlike the more orthodox Islamic practices the Sufi's have often deviated from what many leaders of the faith believe to be the true path and have been declared heretics for their often stunning statements whilst enjoying the ecstacy of being one with their Lord. Some losing their lives for the same at the hands of these controllers of the faith, who consider them to have deviated from the true path.
It also contains brief histories of some of the more famous Sufi saints.
