The 143rd Shreemajjagadguru Shankaraachaarya of Poorwaamanaaya Shreegowardhan Math, Puri, Swanaamadhanya Swaamee Shree Bhaaratee Krshhna Teertha Jee Mahaaraaj having carefully studied the Vaidic literatures, wrote the book entitled "vaidic Ganita" Vaidic Mathematics which attracted popularity throughout the world. The present 145th Shreemajjagadguru Shankaraachaarya Mahaabhaaga Honourable (His Holiness) Swaamee Nishchakaananda Saraswatee Jee having carefully studied the Vadic literatures composed the book "Swastika Ganita" (Swastika Mathematics) in year 2000 which has attracted the attention of the world famous mathematicians. The charishmatic and mysterious disclosure of the concept of existence characteristic of zero like that of one and the powerfulness of zero when supported by one as well as of the novel methods of evaluating numbers explained in this book is astonishing. This is the second edition of "Swastika Ganita". Honourable Pojyacharan (His Holiness) has also Written "Ankapadeeyam" Gananaatha Ganita. It is a disclosure of wonderful wisdom. "Ankapadeeyam" is expected to enjoy the same status among the mathematicians what "vaakyapadeeyam" enjoys among the grammarians. Thorough acquaintance of the Philosophic nature of numbers like zero, one etc. has been explained in a marvellous way in "Ankapadeeyam". In this book, the existence of zero has been proved with the help of various incontrovertible inferences. In "Ankapadeeyam" the necessity of considering zero (0) as the first counting from the point of view of place been established with incontrovertible arguments. The "Swastika Ganita" has been composed to establish the necessity of counting one (1) as the first digit from the point of view of calculation. The book "Ankapadeeyam" has been composed for establishing the necessity of considering zero (0) as the first digit from the point of view of place. The concept of existence of zero (0) and its equality to Brahma (The Supreme and similarity of one (1) to the Almighty has been established in it.
The Philosophy and glory of Swastika; definition of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; similarity of 'one' to Brahma (The Almighty) and concept of existence of zero and its inexpressibleness like that of Maayaa (The Illusion) have been established in Swastika Ganita. It contains five- fold aspects and all-pervasiveness character of 'one and 'zero' as well as many different subjects like the process of evaluating 'one et. The work is charming as it has been accomplished fully in literary and philosophic style. By its thorough and continued study it is proved that mathematics is an accumulated from of various secrets. It is an easy stairway to reach Ganpati, the lord of wisdom and knowledge.
In Saamavedeeya Chaandogyopanishhat 7.1.2 the word Raashi (heap, mass) has been used for the term mathematics (Ganita). Raashi is also called gana (group). The item within the limit of and worthy of counting is ganeya (calculable). Hence Ganita (mathematics) is counting or calculating the items within the limit as well as indicating beyond the limit. Calculation is evaluation. Ganita is top recognize the limited and to indicate the boundless. The boundary of flow of zero in expanding direction is unlimited. The end flow of numbers in declining direction is zero in the sense of infinity. The meaning is that 1, 10 etc. have specific meaning in expanding or developing order. Seventeen zeroes (0) after one (1) is called Paraardha. Paraardha multiplied by Paraardha etc. are unlimited. The end of numbers progressing towards the creation of the universe is unlimited The end of numbers moving towards the dissolution of the universe is one. The uncharacterised end of one is zero which means that the limit of flow of declining numbers is zero is infinite. Countless zeroes have their end in infinity. Mathematics id the movement of zeroes up to countless through the door of one etc. (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, etc.) and that of countless up to infinity in form of zero through the door of one. One without evolution tendency is zero. Zero with expansion tendency is one.
The book has been named "Swastika Ganita" because it contains the essential characters and glory of Swastika and illuminates the philosophic facts which Swastika provides. Shree Trivikramapati Sharmaji, the world famous personality accomplished with cool light like moon in the world of mathematic, has highly delighted the Poojyapaad (His Holiness) by presenting the 'Introduction' of the book.
"Swastika Ganita" written by Poorwaamanaaya Gowardhanamath Puripeethaadheeshwar Shreemajjagadguru Swaami Nishchalaananda Saraswatee Jee is a distinctive pioneering original treatise motivated by pursuance of pure Vaidic tradition of Indian mathematics. Critical evaluation of this eminent work would be possible in future only with the help of research of the scholars. It can be made perceptible only by thorough, deep and continued study. The work of this kind is time relative. But the intelligent students will not have problems in understanding this because this treatise presents very profound matters in attractive and easily perceivable manner. The unfathomable erudition, intensive research and fancy of new writing style of Shreemajjagadguru Shankaraachaarya Swaamee Jee Mahaaraaj is well observed in it.
The treatise "Vaidic Ganita" written by the 143rd Shreemajjagadguru Shankaraachaarya Shree Swaami Bhaaratee Krshhna Teertha Jee Maharaaj of Shreegowardhan Math (Puri) stands in the background of "Swastika Ganita". But many such original matters have been included in this "Swastika Ganita" by deep study analysis of which we will receive specific help in understanding the tradition of Vaidic Ganita in its original form.
There is not even the slightest trace of doubt that this treatise shinning brilliantly with the light of precious pearls collected from the interior of the ocean of Indian wisdom would certainly generate new waves in the pool of knowledge (Maanasarowar) of the scientists all over the world. According to Indian traditions and in the line with credible statement "Saa Vidyaa Yaa Vimuktaye" knowledge is that releases from the process of rebirth and death. Shreemajjagadguru Shankaraachaarya Shree Swaami Nishchalaananda Saraswatee Jee Maharaaj has motivated us in the direction of hidden spiritual knowledge of the Ved through Swastika Ganita and 'Ankapadeeyam' are the original texts presenting the basic foundation of mathematics on philosophic plane. Due to difference in position both have their. Peculiarities also. Existence of zero is the principle common to both. One (1) is at the first place from the point of view of position zero (0) occupies the first place. The 'Swastika Ganita' has been composed assuming one as the first number in the process of counting and zero as vanished one or inexpressible power of one. The 'Ankapadeeyam' has been written on accepting zero which is equal to Brahma as the first number with the help of incontrovertible reasoning and considering one equal to the Almighty by the combination of imaginary working power imbedded in zero. Surprising changes are sure to emerge in the world in the world of mathematics through these two books.
The composition of 'Ganita Darshan' philosophy of mathematics has also been completed with a view to prove that mathematics is useful in the field of economics, and knowledge related to fulfilment of desire and religion and in leading to liberation.
The idia of composing Vaidikaarshha Ganita and Sootra Ganita in near future is also under consideration.
