The Epic Journey of this taittariya Upanisad began some year back in 2013. Pujya Swamiji had oft commented that particular Upanisad held a prime place in all vedana- Sastra and keenly expressed a wish to see his taittariya classes in book form.

The request was specific – his classes of the 2010 to 2013 vedanta course were to be transcribes and edited he also remarked that his exposition of this Upanisads and Sankara’s commentary would, in the main, serve as classroom material for teachers of the Samradaya.

And so it was the gratifying yet onerous task of bringing his spoken language into the written realm was started at Arsha Vidya Research and publication Trust. From the outset, a team of dedicated and committed staff, Swamis and Swaminis was formed to bring the guru’s initiative into fruition.

With copious blessing from Pujya Swamiji the Acarya of the 2010 to 2013 course , Swami Saksatkrtananda Sarasvati assumed the lead role of editing and modifying the original manuscripts. His patent success in retaining pujya Swamiji’s quientessential approach to Vedanta – sastra is sensed by the reader, as page after page, one feels the presence of the living Swami Dayananda, his wisdom, his humour , his signature phrases.

After 2013, as his health began to fail and age took its toll, Pujya Swamiji continued editing and explaining his own words in this book, as the manuscripts were read out aloud to his . From the beginning , he has remained part and parcel of every comma, quote, colon and full stop in this edition of the taittariya Upanisad.

It has come out beautifully. The book has come out very well; was his feedback in a mailto Swami saksatkrtananda. As his last days were spent in Rishikesh, Listening to and savouring his own words, he openly professed delight in his Opus, this taittiriya.

So , our journey now draws to a close with pujya Swamiji’s gift to us – his cherished book in our hands.
