This is the fifth volume of the detailed catalogue of the manuscripts in the library of the Idara. This volume contains information regarding 250 manuscripts thus up to now details have been furnished about 1150 manuscripts in five volumes. There are about 4,000 more manuscripts about which details have to be furnished in the subsequent Volumes. The number of manuscripts in the library of the Idara is in- creasing every month. The Idara has gained so much confidence of the people that they are of their own accord, giving donation of books and manuscripts from their own libraries or from the collections of their ancestors. Durink the period the present volume was being prepared the Idara has received a considerable number of printed books and manuscripts from Nawab Inayat Jung, Nawab Yaseen Ali Khan, Professor Syed Mohammed, Messers Tamkeen Kazimi, Murad Ali Taale Mir Saadat Ali Razvi, Khaja Hameednddin Shahid, Akbaruddin Siddiqi, Ahmadullah Khan, Omar Yusufi and Begum Abduljalil. Details regarding these gifts will be recorded at their proper place in the proper catalogue. However at the end of the prefarce a list of the names of those donors only whose books have been catalogued, in this volume is being given. Next to the list of the Donors come the list of those manuscripts in Urdu persian, Arabic and Hindi, which are dealt in all these five published catalogues. Then the subject wise list of the books mentioned in this volume, is given. It was found necessary because these manuscripts could not be separated subject wise as a number of books are included in one volume. It was difficult to unbind any volume as on each book contained in the volume the name of the copyist and the date of writing is not mentioned. The writer has copied a number of books together, got them bounded and has put his name, place and date at the end. That is the reason why some times while writing about Urdu books we had to mention some Hindi or Persian or Arabic books also as it was included in that volume. It needs be explained that as in other volumes, in this volume also stress has been laid upon the special features of the manuscripts. Details about the lives of the Poets and authors have not been given. Only references have been made towards the sources so that Research Scholars may lay their hands on them. The main aim of the preparation of these catalogues is to let the Research Scholars know what manuscripts are available in the library of the Idara.
