In this edition, the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna, which originally were brought out in two volumes, are put in one volume after a thorough revision. Some of the teachings in the first edition which were repetitions a - defect which could not be avoided in the first edition as the publication of the teachings in book form was not a continuous process are left out. Still a few repetitions do occur in this, which is partly done on purpose as they are particularly apt under different headings. A good number of new teachings have been added in this edition, so that the total number exceeds that of the first edition by more than a hundred. Those marked with an asterisk are taken from the Bengali Kathamrita by M. or its English version, The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. The teachings have been sorted and put under elaborate headings so as to give the readers the Master's message in a more definite and systematic form. The get-up of the book is very much improved, while the price is partially reduced.

We hope the work in its new form will be heartily welcomed by the reading public.
