The versatile scholarship of Professor C. R. Agnives is unraveled in this work on Rachanasareera. He had already penned the works, `Padarthavijnanam' and `Padarthavijnanam and Ayurveda Ithihasam' which are milestones in the understanding of Padarthavijnanam and Ayurveda, before venturing to publish this book. By this third book that he chiseled for Ayurveda students, Professor Agnives proves that he was an unparaleled academician by any parameters. His quintessential service for 37 years in academic and administrative ladders in various Ayurveda Colleges in Kerala will be reverently remembered by students and colleagues. Reflections of his versatility as a dramatist, lyricist and poet (which he actually was) can be found if this text is read closely. His numerous articles, many of which were published in `Vaidyam' journal of KAL of which he was the editor, are testimonials of his wisdom overwhelming the knowledge. The state of Kerala honored him with the prestigious Dhanwantari award' in 2007 in recognition for his services to Ayurveda. His life drew its curtains on the 21st of February, 2015.
Racanasareera is a subject which he cherished as a fundamental subject for clinical proficiency, especially in the `tantra' subjects like `Shalya tantra', Salakya tantra', `Prasutitantra' etc. As any technique needs mastery over the structure, proper anatomical knowledge is a fundamental prerequisite in the learning of diseases and their management in these subjects. This book is an easy to follow text not only for the students of BAMS, but for the clinicians too, in sharpening their clinical acumen.
