September 28 2019, Mahalaya Amavasya, a special day. A day when everyone makes offerings and pays homage, to express their gratitude to all the previous generations who have in some way or the other contributed to their life. It is mainly done by offering food and water and sincere prayers for the best of those who have passed away. It was the perfect day for me to pay my tribute, start writing my book and convey my love and gratitude to Meher Baba, the creator of us all, who has been my reason to exist, my Father-the eternal guide gifted to me and Rupam, my precious friend, who was like an elder sister and guide I never had.
As it is with most authors, my book also has taken the longest time to begin. Reasons have been plenty but all of them driven by my own limitations-fear, Inferiority, laziness, lowest self- esteem and so on and so forth. However, it is happening now and all thanks to my departed dad (Asandas Manglani) and beloved friend Rupam Nagia, and of course with the divine grace of Meher Baba, the doer of everything.
During the most difficult time of my life in 2011, I had turned towards reading spiritual books, which gave me strength in my solitude, hope and a positive outlook towards the difficulties I was facing. When I read Sound of Silence by Nan Umrigar, it touched my heart and soon I met Nan Aunty, so as to help me release my pain. It was then that I heard of Meher Baba, and everything that followed changed my life forever. Nan Aunty gave me the contact of Rupam Nagia so that I could have a companion in Mumbai who was a Baba lover and could connect me to Him through His stories and Rupam's personal experiences. On our first ever meeting itself, we were travelling together to Meherabad for the Amartithi (the day Baba took samadhi). It was after this short trip that I realized that Rupam and I were going to be friends forever. Our journey was the most beautiful. We had connected instantly and never looked back; we moved forward on our happy spiritual path. She helped me to connect with several Baba lovers and made me realize what it felt like to be close to Him.
They are all one! MEHER, SAI, ALLAH, ISHWAR, RAM, KRISHNA, ZOROASTER, GURU NANAK, JESUS, are all alike to me; they are all one-one single energy, one highest power, one superior being which drives every single soul from the largest form to the most minute cell in each body, living or dead.
All the people and circumstances that led me to Meher Baba, from my guiding angles, my father and my dearest friend. Rupam, to my most loving and caring guru, my Sai, from all those who love me and those who hate me to people known and unknown, I worship everyone as if they are GOD, the enormous energy which resides in everyone!
The love and positivity, the vibrations I sense when I pray to the highest of the high, is the same when I connect with my father (Late Mr. Asandas Manglani) or my spiritual guide Rupam (from this world and even after her cross- over), who taught me to hold onto His daaman and love him unconditionally, believe in all His doings and obey Him without any doubt, just how Meheramai showed the world the true meaning of selfless love and how to follow and trust Meher Baba with utter obedience.
Meher Baba always said that he never belonged to any religion and all religions belonged to him, he is the ancient one, the ONLY ONE, and the lone religion that is real is that of LOVE because he is EVERYWHERE and also in EVERYTHING! And I now fully understand what it means to love all beings equally through years of my experiences, suffering, joy, ups and down (roller-coaster, as I like to call it).
I am utterly grateful to Baba that he thought I was worthy enough to love him, follow him and spread his love through my words and this book. I am hopeful that my experiences with Baba will help and guide everyone who is in need!
