Thirumangal Azwars three works viz. Periya Thirumozhi, and the twin Taandakams which are presented in this book in fact have superceded one yet-to-be-presented volume in the section of Mudhalayiram viz. Thiruppavai and Nachhiyar Thiromozhi. Adiyen has deliberately chosen to present Sri Andal’s works at the very end, that is after covering lyarpa. The reason is that I wished the Thayar’s works to crown the preceding works and also to sing ‘mangalam’ for this series! it is my fond hope that I will be able to complete this kainkaryam of presenting all the 4000 Prabhandam verses with summarized explanations by end 2010 (God-willing !).
Broadly based on Peria Aachan Pillai’s commentary the summary of explanations bears Adiyen’s stamp- no important message of the azwar is left out the coverage is nearly comprehensive; repetitions are combined to achieve brevity and make the book more readable.
Mrs. Sudha has done an excellent work of type setting. I thank her, and also Sri Sharada Prasad for timely printing.
