To go back into the time when music was queen and some of her most reliable men were in a mood to give music their very best is nothing but an amazing effort. To cull out the magic of these maestros, each a master of his own genre, is a feat which can only be performed by two people who are madly in love with the music which soothed the soul, stirred the heart and even moved the mind.
As I went through the pages of the tome I could only imagine the hard work put in by Mr.Bajpai and Anshula, the kind of hard work which is only a dream in today's times when books on films and music are brought out like chocolates and melt, are forgotten and fade away even before anyone has a second look at them.
I am very sure that this book will be a milestone in the history of Hindi film music. The book is embellished with some unusual and unseen photographs which speak volumes and makes one stop going ahead and keep gaping at them. Trinetra Bajpai is an internationally known name in the field of Chemical Process Technologies and Petrochemical / Steel / Wood products industry, with a brilliant track record of successfully executing numerous mega international scale projects in India and abroad over the last 38 years. Anshula Bajpai, the daughter of Trinetra Bajpai and Kanika Bajpai (Theatre / Television Artist), possesses Master's degrees in "Creative and Critical Writing" (Sussex University Brighton, UK) and "Mass Communications and Cultural Studies" (University of Western Sydney, Australia). She is an aspiring novelist and is also pursuing appropriate opportunities as a story/screenplay/dialogue writer. Her first successful foray has been the complete story/screenplay/dialogues for the superhit DD serial `Bikhri Aas Nikhri Preet', for her home production KMPL (based on her Grandmother, erstwhile professor and novelist Smt. Shanti Kumari Bajpai's novel Wyavdhan').
The Bajpais are connoisseurs of vintage Hindi film music and possess a treasure trove of the melodies of yore. The father and daughter dun have penned a number of articles on celluloid personalities, including books on Dilip Kamm. Dev Anand and Indian classical music.
