About The Book

As Rabindranath Tagore said, “Do not say — It is morning- and dismiss it with a name of yesterday. See it for the first time as a newborn child that has no name.”

Think of every morning as a brand new beginning and begin your day with reading the thought for the day from this book, and you are already off to a flying start. And go beyond mere reading to reflect and act upon what Acharya Mahaprajna has written, and you are bound to end the day a more happy and fuffilled person.

Acharya mahaprajna a jain monk who lives a life of non-violence, has covered more than 100,000 kilometres on foot traversing the length and breadth of the country and reaching out to people in more than 10,000 villages spreading the message of peace, non-violence and harmony

About The Author

H. H. Acharya Mahaprajna is a writer, poet, philosopher and a social reformer. Born in 1920 and ordained as a monk in 1930, he has spent over eighty years of his life as a monk. Acharya Mahaprajana’s life has been unswerving in its pursuit of learning and its application. In keeping with the tradition, which has nourished him, he has spent these years walking across the country, learning as it were not only from the texts and wisdom of yore but also from every being he interacted with. His experiences and insights have led him to a deep understanding of human nature. He contends, that every religion presents an aspect of truth, no one religion reveals it completely. This led to his new and contemporary exposition of a fundamental principle of tolerance found in jaina philosophy, which is anekanta. Demystifying this principle, Acharya Mahaprajna interpreted it in terms of relativity in all spheres of life, thereby deriving his formula for peaceful co—existence, equanimity and a positive outlook.

Written by Acharya Mahaprajna, an erudite scholar, thinker and writer, these 365 thoughts are the essence of his accumulated knowledge and wisdom which offers to the common man the path of practical, righteous living.

Acharya Mahaprajna is the tenth spiritual head of Jain Swetambar Terapanth community. He started writing at the age of twenty-two and by now has written more than two hundered book in Hindi, Sanskrit, prakrit and Rajasthani languages on meditation, spiritualty and various dimensions of the human mind and behaviour.

Preface

In the story that is evolution, the human being stands foremost because of his well developed intellect and mind. The mind performs three functions: recollection, imagination and contemplation. Among the three, the activity of thinking or contemplation is of great importance. This activity is not constrained by time, and yet for pure, unbiased and unfettered contemplation, early morning rime is very conducive. The reason for this is the fact that at that time the man’s mind is full of the neurotransmitter, Serotonin.

This book is meant to lead in that direction. In its English rendition, Sudhamahi Regunathan’s role is significant. Sadhvi Vishrut Vibha translated it and Sudhamahi tidied, boned and embeffished it elegantly. An involved reading of this may inspire the reader to set out on a journey along a new course.
