Not a galaxy of personalities are found in the annals of mankind who are electrified with as intense a spirituality as that possessed by the Apostles of Sri Ramakrishna. It is a very proud privilege for us all that Swami Abhedananda and the other Apostles of Sri Ramakrishna spent the last drop of their blood for deliverance of mankind from the fetters of utter materialism and the narrow prejudices of all religions. Their very lives were the embodiments of practical Vedanta, the universal truth.

Swami Abhedananda spent 25 years of spiritual ministration in England, America and many other countries of the western continent. On his return to India he selected Darjeeling and Calcutta as the baselands of his work in India.

Swami Abhedananda made a gigantic work by bringing to the mass at large the universal truth and the principles of the universal religion Vedanta, which hithertofore remained stagnant in Sanskrit scriptures, newly illuminated with the light focused by the greatest incarnation of God of all ages, Sri Ramakrishna. We have picked up a few gems from the vast ocean of the Swami's spiritual ministration all over the globe and now offer them to the readers to act as the sure means of achieving god-consciousness for any seeker of truth and real happiness who should follow them in right earnest.
