Tourism and Borders examines the multiple and diverse relationships between global tourism and political boundaries. Kushal Sura is an Indian historian, writer and a cultural activist based in Uttarakhand, who has campaigned for the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage. Kushal Sura was born in Dehradun and attended St Joseph's Academy and has a master's degree in sociology. He received his PhD in political science. Tourism is travel for pleasure or business; also the theory and practice of touring, the business of attracting, accommodating and entertaining tourists, and the business of operating tours. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that up to 500,000 people are in flight at any one time.
