About the Book This book "Towards Quality Education" is developed to highlight the measures required to be taken at different stages of implementation of education policies and programmes in the direction of improvement of quality Education. To improve the quality of education along with universalization of primary education and secondary education, stress is now being made for improvement of quality education through different schemes envisaged by Government of India.

After implementing the SSA successfully, the Government of India has now come up with RMSA Scheme and right to education Act 2009 with an emphasis on universal Quality primary and secondary education.

This book contains the material on various topics highlighting steps required to be taken by the implementing agencies. Also ant overview of the education developments in J &K during past three decades have been. highlighted.

This book contains the chapters on progress overview in J & K. It also underlines the need to improve the quality of education and different topics associated with improvement of quality education. The book will serve as guide not only to the officers the education department but also help the students undergoing professional courses like B.Ed and M.Ed.

About the Author G.R. Shah is working in education department as district educational planning officer. He has worked in the department of education in different capacities like lecturer, Research officer in SIE Srinagar, Principal of different higher Secondary Schools and as a district officer. He did his master's degree in Pol. Science and B.Ed from University of Kashmir.

He is a diploma holder in Education Planning and Administration from National University of Education Planning and Administration New Delhi. Different articles published in different Journals and magazines stand to his credit. He is the author of the book "Development of education in modern India" and the present book towards quality education is his second book.
