For many years, it is human curiosity that has been driving discoveries and inventions in different branches of science in the course of progress of the humankind. The branch of science called Astrology is the most important of all these developments. Regardless of time and boundaries of nations, efforts have been put in by many eminent individuals to study this particular branch in depth.

The stars and planets in constant motion high above the infinite sky made man think extensively and continuously about the nature and environment around him and of which he is a part. These thoughts of mankind continue to exercise their profound influence upon man and the nature in which he is living. The clear and comprehensive understanding of the impact of these thoughts helps man live a disciplined and systematic life and thus enables him comprehend the nature of time.

All the organisms living in this nature are constantly under the influence of two kinds of forces. They are; one, The Cosmic energy and the second, Sun energy or light energy. Hence, we can say that the entire solar system is dependent on these two kinds of forces. (This is Electro Magnetic Energy.)

The term Jyotishya means the science of light. The word Jyothisshulu means luminous or luminescent objects. We, on our planet earth, receive maximum possible amount light and heat from the sun. The light of the sun falls on Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Moon and Earth which are the various celestial bodies or planets of our solar system. Hence, they are also shining by reflecting the sunlight falling on them though they are by themselves non luminescent. Therefore, all living organisms on the earth are definitely subject to the impact of the light coming to the earth from all these seven celestial bodies.
