Venus is a most brilliant planet and is known as the Goddess of beauty. It can be seen early in the morning. Excepting Moon in the night one can see it as a most brightest planet in the sky. It's light is most attractive and fascinating and has a soothing effect. This planet has attracted the attention of learned Rishis and Vendantis from Vedic times and till today it occupies an important place in astronomy and astrology. Western countries have evinced lot of interest in this planet and readers will note in Chapter 1 few interests shown by Russian Scientist. Thus a fascinating planet of beauty and sex has captured the attention of astronomers and astronauts. This is one planet which has been universally accepted as a planet of beauty, happiness and romance. Anything whose refinement and higher attributes of mind are involved one has to look for Venus. In India it is called Sukra but is also known as Lucifer and Hesperus. Greek call it the Aphrodite, the Babylonians call it Nana, the Hebrews named it Astrorith, Asyrians called Venus Isktor and Phoenicians as Astrate. In mythological stories Venus has been identified as Preceptor of Daityas and this has vast implications in Nadi System of Astrology. However, there is almost no major difference in consideration of Venus between East and West except that Hindus use Venus to delineate the extent of ones comfort, luxuries, conveyance and happiness. It represents love affairs, his spouse and marriage. It represents Goddess Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth). As a matter of fact whenever any consultant gives his horoscope for consideration I always in the first instance evaluate Venus to get bird'o eye views of his status, happiness in life and married life. I am surprised that such an important planet has not been considered in all its aspects by anyone and at least I have not come across any book. I am sure that the present book will fill up this gap. This book contains valuable materials of the professional as well as amateur Astrologers. The complete material has been divided into 18 Chapters. All the materials contained in this book are based on the notes which author has been making for his own use during last thirty years. Thus obviously all the materials contained in this book are based on works of great old and recent authors and masters. In fact I do not claim any originality except that material has been compiled and presented in the book form.
I have endeavoured to develop the subject progressively starting from general description of the planet and then coming to characteristic of the planet in Chapter 2. Here the views of various authorities have been given. The characteristics of this planet play a very important role in interpreting various aspect in Natal Chart which considering various aspect of life. When we consider various houses connected with marriage, Venus is always considered as it is Karka of marriage. Karkatawa has played a very important role in Nadi System of Astrology and it would not be wrong to say that the development of Nadi System is based on Karkatawa of the planets if one wants to know about the married life, one has to circulate Venus being Karka of marriage and see how it reads as it meets after planets with different Karkatwas. I have done some work on this which I shall put before the readers if circumstances permit. The changes in status of a native can be ascertained at various periods of life by circulating Venus as Karka of Wealth and evaluating it's reaction with other planets in the Natal Chart. However, in my experience, the life of Karkatawas of Venus has been an important tool in interpreting the various aspects of life.
Chapter 5 gives the results of Venus in various signs. Here effort has been made to develop the subject in most rational way by mixing the signification and qualities of signs with that of planet Venus. This is a very important aspect in interpreting the results and must be kept in view. This plays a very important role while considering the result of this planet when placed in various houses which has been considered in Chapter 6. While considering the result of Venus in various houses, the views of various authorities have been given to indicate differences in results and to enable the readers to probe more into the subject. The effect of planet in various houses has been a very controversial subject and different results indicated by various authorities have probably emerged because of some following a system of permanent of allotment of planets to houses and some following the system of evaluating the result of reaction of planet and houses where they are placed. In old Astrological books there has been mention of a system which envisaged division of zodiac in permanent departments and fixed lords of these departments. According o it Lord of first house is Sun, Lord of second is Jupiter, Lord of third is Mars and so on Nawatay has mentioned different lords of houses but they are also fixed. Thus obviously these planets with fixed lordship if placed in different houses will give different results and authorities have not mentioned the system followed which indicating the results. The system of lordship of houses borrowed from Egyptian and Greek astrologers also tried to give a different turn.
Varah Mihira have not given the result o the planets as lord of houses However, much research is needed in this area. Here effort has been made to reconcile various ideas and give most acceptable results. General comments along with general inferences have been given for the benefit of readers. The results of Venus in various signs have been used in evaluating the result of Venus as placed in various houses.
Chapter 7 deals with Venus is various constellations and Venus in Retrogression. In fact Venus in various constellations is a subject by itself which has been just mentioned in a small space. Vedic Astrology, as I could gather, considered the passage of Natal planets in various constellations to delineate the results. In old times, the difference of time was counted from vernal equinox and equator in Nakshatra. Sapta Rishi requires 100 years to go through one Nakshatra. Mantreshwar has indicated that Sun requires 10 years to go through one Nakshatra. Mantreshwar has indicated that Sun requires 10 year to go through one Nakshatra. However, the consideration of space and vastness of subject left no choice but to mention it in small space. Readers will realize how important is role of Venus in retrogression. However, more research is needed on this subject as this forms an important link between past birth and the present.
Chapter 8, Venus for each ascendant is most important chapter and is result of earlier chapter's specially Venus in various signs and houses. This chapter has become unusually lengthy because of its coverage and importance. This will enable the inquisitive readers to find the results of Venus in their horoscopes and verify the results. Lot of pains have been taken to develop this chapter and I am sure readers will take full advantage of it.
Chapter 9, considering Venus in relations with other planets is very important and interesting. The results of Chapter 8 and Chapter 9 will give a general idea of the pattern of life. In fact this chapter forms a strong 'basis for results given in Nadi Astrology. One can delineate the results of Venus completely after combining the results of Chapter 8, Chapter 9 and aspects.
From Chapter 12 to 14 the role of Venus is various aspects of life has been considered with illustrative examples and readers will find it very useful and interesting. Chapter 15 considers few Venus Dasa but here the general principles of interpreting the Dasa/Bhukti have been given to enable readers to apply to after planets.
Thus this book has been developed as mentioned progressively with an effort to make it an useful tool in the hands of amateur astrologers and professionals.
In compiling the astrological material contained in this book, reference of Astrological works of the writers of past and present and astrological magazines have been freely consulted and the help is gratefully acknowledged.

Thanks are also due to Mr. Narendra Sagar of Sagar publications, New Delhi, who has taken keen interest in bringing out this book. My Father was keenly interested in astrology and I used to be silent listener to various discussions which he used to have with learned astrologers and Pandits. He died when I was only 14 years old and so I could not have much advantage of his knowledge in Astrology which was recognized by many. Since then I have been studying astrology and consulting number of astrologers with a view to gain knowledge. I have practising astrology as a hobby and amongst my consultants there were ministers, Government officials and businessmen. Numbers of national and individual predictions have been made correctly ad I used to draw a good crowd. Number of predictions failed and every failure produced urge to study more and perfect it. Number of systems I studied but could not get satisfaction. Came across a number of Nadi astrologers in Punjab, Surath and Nepal ad this produced a strong urge to find out technique of predictions. I studied a number of Nadi (Bhrigu) leaves and could get some success in it. I am trying to develop it further and if circumstances allow, I may write about my findings.
