Wake Up India by young author Shrinivas deals with the idea of being Indian. It touches many important aspects of India like spirituality, secularism and Hinduness. We understand that it is vital to be proud of our identity as an Indian.
It is said that when a child takes birth from his mother's womb, he also gets devoted to the civilization of the land. In Bharat, this civilization is the Bharatiya Civilization. Today's youth should know their responsibility towards their nation. This book also guides you on how one can indulge oneself in the service of the nation along with personal aspirations.
Shrinivas Hinge is a business Danalyst by profession and a historian by heart. He has written a book by the name Indian Must Know: Let's Be Proud. His mission is to make people aware of India's glorious history and make Indians aware of their glorious identity. He loves to narrate stories and possesses a certain passion for storytelling. He has also translated one spiritual book from Marathi to English, which was published by a renowned publication. He has co-developed a mobile app of the book Saarth Dasbodh written by the famous 17th-century saint Samartha Ramdas Swami. Coming from a humble and cultural background, he has inculcated traditional values with modern ethics. As an emerging writer, he has focused on rewriting history by pointing out the false narratives taught for generations. Shrinivas also gives lectures on the topic "Need to rewrite Indian history."
There are many studies and research undertaken on the rich Indian heritage, culture and civilization. In modern context, the present-day India has garnered appreciation for its diversified approach towards many global issues. However, a deeper analysis exudes that the rise of India and its cultural and spiritual might can be traced back to the Vedic Culture and ancient Indian civilization. There is, therefore, the need to undertake more studies that comprehend and recognize the true meanings and interpretations of the very essence of Hindu civilization.
This book by Shrinivas Hinge ji beautifully captures many significant issues and debates that would help readers comprehend the true spirit of our great Indic heritage and civilization. By shedding light upon the glorious heritage of Bharat, the book emphasizes on the duty of each Indian citizen to serve the society and the nation with new ideas and thought processes to be built upon our rich Indian heritage and civilization. This is also a need to evolve a deeper understanding of our culture globally. In the process, we may also gather insights into our very own civilizational values derived from Vedas, paving the way to build a New India.
I must also compliment Shrinivas Hinge for this self-motivated effort undertaken painstakingly and with requisite professional skills. His hard work and passion are evident beyond doubt! I am sure, this book will be received well by readers in India and abroad!
We Indians achieved our independence in the year 1947. If we open our history books, which describe our freedom struggle during the period 1857 to 1947, the commonality that one finds is that a very small percentage of the population took part in the fight against the British government. Irrespective of the way, violent or non-violent, the majority of the population remained neutral. They were either complacent or disinterested to be free from the colonial rule. And that is why it took us Indians so long to attain freedom. A population of more than 30 crore remained in slavery and put the nation in the hands of a few hundred thousand White men.
Today we are politically independent, but the same mindset still exists. We are too busy with our mundane life. We lack the knowledge of our nation, culture, civilization and history. This makes us myopic and careless about the nation's progress and national interest. It is noteworthy that our nation has survived innumerable troubles it faced from internal and external enemies. Today's intellectuals, instead of being an advocate for our country regarding different topics of national interest, act as a judge in such scenarios and many a time criticize our brethren. The tendency of defaming our own country has percolated genetically in our blood, and we find it fascinating to do so. Hindus, who never harmed anybody, remain submissive and get bullied by others. The only ancient civilization which is still surviving and qualifies to be the only civilization which can bring peace in the world is yet to realize her capacities and capabilities.
We Indians are in the phase akin to that of Lord Hanuman's, when He was unaware of His powers. Indians need Jambuvan to wake them up from the hibernation and help them traverse the ocean of troubles, poverty, corruption, ignorance and divisiveness. Only then will we land in a place where we will be again called golden sparrow, heaven on earth etc. This booklet will help the reader to understand his great Hindu heritage and the true meaning of secularism. The next few pages will bring you an inch closer to understanding the difference between religion and spirituality.
