"There are some 550 Jataka Tales, dating back I to the third century B.C. They are all about the former lives of Lord Buddha who, by taking a diversity of roles, learnt a lesson of wisdom from each life. From an old Jataka book Eva Kipp found in Sri Lanka while visiting a monastery, four stories with a powerful message were chosen. Balakrishna Sivaram and Eva Kipp made a first version of these stories. Remco Ekkers edited this version and translated the stories into Dutch. After then they were translated back into English by Rien van Nek. The illustrations are made by Eva Kipp.
