This book has attempted to persuade readers to understand emotions, give up superstitions, have faith in God and follow the route to a digital India. These four things will inculcate a rational thinking and positive outlook, which will enable the reader to attain objective goals.
DR P. S. SINDHU retired as Associate Professor after teaching Physical Chemistry for 41 years from Hansraj College, DU. He did his M.Sc. from IIT, Delhi and Ph.D. from DU. He has published 21 books on molecular spectroscopy, physical chemistry, and eight research papers.
Over a long period of time society has grown to the present state in which the perceived understanding of our evolution, our relationship and our environment has been misconstrued, thereby acting as hurdle to our forward movement. Advancement in science has given clear perspectives at every level in every field. In such situations observing everything in relation to science and rationality would take precedence. I retired from Hans Raj College after teaching Physical Chemistry for forty- one years but had given deep thinking about various philosophies, emotions, evolution of universe, evolution of life and development of knowledge. All these contribute to deform or reform our personality, depending how wrongly or correctly they are understood. These factors work in a similar way on everyone. By teaching I could make good students but not a good human being. To be mere good student will not give a strong persona because your family, your friends, your internal desires and goals do contribute to that. All these factors are associated with development of emotions in everyone. A carreer plus emotions will make you a humble person, a good human being. This write up is metamorphic of a vast storehouse of human experiences, like linguistic heritage to better communication, a powerful resource, to which our schools and universities education do not give enough credence. Of course university life gives you best friends for life. Science has improved the quality of our life, our relationships and how to manage them, to grow richer with our wisdom, so as to become a better communicator. We are in an age where on the spot, fast, quick, brief but a correct answer is expected each time. However my experience says, if we do not understand emotional responses, then we sacrifice truth because it is hard to react. In this write up I have attempted to teach emotions in a clear perspective, a kind of shorthand for conveying our feelings and thinking. Usually most of the issues are quite complex making them difficult to correctly understand. Understanding of emotions may or may not be linked to our career but is linked to our behaviour moulding to give a persona. Consequently an understanding of emotions will clear road blocks to facilitate in achieving objective goals, and act as wings to fly high. However misconstrued understanding narrows our outlook thereby acting as a hurdle to flying and moving forward. Another way of saying is that one does not know tomorrow, but emotions make us strong to face tomorrow. This write up will serve to make wings strong enough to take off tomorrow. I will like to take this opportunity to acknowledge my thanks and appreciation for my publishers for undertaking the publication of this book. I must thank Varun Jain & Atika Jain of Motilal Banarsidass Publishing House for helping me all through in the process of this publication.
