A Commentary in verse on Yoga-sutras of Patanjali and Vyasa-bhāṣya with further elaboration in Sanskrit and Bengali, the first philosophical work of the author bears the stamp of his genius like all his later works. For 20 years it remained as manuscript until a local Rajā came forward to fund its publication in 1910. The book has had several new editions with additional materials, which are included. A useful book for all who care to get the message of the ancient sages on what Yoga truly is.
Yogakārikā is the very first composition of Ācārya Swāmīji among all the Samkhya-yoga books by him. The hand-written manuscript was Yogakoumudi.
It was written in 1892, but only after eighteen years, i.e., in 1910 it was in print. First and second editions of this book were distributed free courtesy of King Jyotiḥprasāda Sinha Deo Bahadura, the ruler of Pancakot. One edition was also printed in Devnagari script and gifted to the saints and hermits of Kāśi, Prayaga and Hṛṣikeśa regions. They earnestly accepted it with love and reverence.
